This is the perfect way to celebrate this season. The cake is a chocolate cake with ganache filling. I had to bake 5 cakes to be able to get the right height for the pumpkin. The birthday girl wasn’t sure if it was a cake or not, she kept touching it to make sure it was real!!! Yes it is a cake and a very fun one!!! Happy Halloween!!! I think this is it for Halloween this year!!! Let’s wait for the next year’s creations!!!
Halloween time is always busy. This year wasn’t any different. I was so pleased to have so many opportunities to create and decorate. I was asked to bake a fun, different and clean cake for this party. I came up with this idea and I was so excited to finally use my new tool to make this cake. I think the result was really worth while to get the fabulous trimmer tool that made the work way easier and neater!!! I hope you all like the result as much as I did! It really made my day to hear the feedback after the party, that I always love, that a sweet 3 year old girl started crying for more of my cake, so that means it was a success to me!!! She made me the happiest person ever!!! It meant the whole wide world!!! SO HAPPY!!! Happy Halloween!!!
Happy Halloween to everyone!
I got my inspiration from a website I saw couple of weeks ago. I changed the spider web but the idea is similar.
I kind of like this version better but that’s my taste.
Modeling chocolate spider, fondant cover and marshmallow spider web.
How can it get wrong for a Halloween birthday party???
I was asked to make a smash cow cake for this party.
I heard the birthday boy did not really like what he saw at first, but when they
removed the black fondant accents he loved it!!!
I made with all organic ingredients for his first sweet bite ever!!
It is a yellow cake with Swiss buttercream frosting and black fondant accents.
Thanks Jessica for trusting me on his special day!
This car cake took lots of hours to be completed. So many trips to the refrigerator that I can’t even count them. It was a very nice project for the summer and very interesting techniques. Some were new to me and others I had used before. It is always so nice to have a fun instructor like Mike to teach you a different cake project. Thanks for his DVD and unique personality!!!
Definitely not an easy or fast cake project, but I love to learn and challenge myself!!!

Why not to have your favorite recipes to be the center of the attention on the center of the dessert table? It was my cake this year, a recipe cake! It was coconut cake with passion fruit filling imported directed from Brazil (thanks to my sweet brother that came for a quick visit) in a buttercream frosting. I decorated with a yellow peony sugar flower. The table was filled with desserts and lots of passion fruit along the desserts too. I can’t get enough of passion fruit!!! I was brought up with all kinds of passion fruit recipes and now here in US is a rare treat! I even have a passion fruit vine tree at my backyard. We had many beautiful flowers but no fruits yet! Passion Fruit for everybody!!!
It is always a delight to make something that brings a smile to the little ones faces!!!
I always had Snow White as my favorite princess growing up. She was the first Disney Princess after all and at my time I don’t think we had so many options like we have now. Pretty much all my friends had a Snow White birthday party growing up and it wasn’t different for me. When you have a 4 year old that loves to watch over and over all the princess movies you are certainly in for a big treat. They are very close to my heart and to my family too! Snow White is still in, and she is always so magical!!!
Thanks for Debbie Brown for the cake inspiration!
I heard about The TomKat studio a couple of years ago. A client asked me to bake for her two cakes being inspired by their website. Since then I became a big fan and am following them at Facebook. They are so talented and very well know in the business. Several weeks ago I entered a giveaway (which I never do) just because I was so interested in the new book Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas that I saw at a bookstore that same weekend! And guess what?? I won!!! I was so excited to hear the news!! I couldn’t believe it but it is official and today I got my autographed copy in my mail box!!! I am attaching the link just to prove it!!! And of course I already spent the money, more pedestals for me!! I am waiting for them to come and put them in good use really soon!!! Coincidences are all around us we just have to be aware of them and embrace it!!! I just love it!!!

We had so much fun making them and what a special treat for anybody! I baked a Vanilla cake and topped it with fresh vegan whipped cream. My clients have been giving me lots of different requests. I just loved to discover this delicious, rich and guilt-free frosting! I am so lucky to be able to learn so much with everybody's unique needs. Thanks to you all.
