This is a graduation/birthday cake for a wonderful girl. She is turning 18, traveling to Italy with her family, moving out of her home, going to college to study oceanography and has roots in Peru. I was lucky to bake for her and be trusted with the design of the cake. She asked me for a purple cake and a mermaid on it. I think the cake turned out as cute and sweet as she is. I am so proud of being using most of organic ingredients and sharing them with my beloved clients that are so open and kind to me and my designs. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to bake for this family that is close to my heart.
I gave the mother some options to decorate her son’s smash cake. She asked me for two surf boards, a blue cake with some waves and some shark fins to decorate the cupcakes. The cake was a white buttermilk with real vanilla bean and of course I went all the way to use as many organic ingredients as I could find. I would say that I was very happy with the result regarding the ingredients except for the blue dye that wasn’t organic. I tried the natural one but I could not get the right shade she desired. I love to use all natural dyes but it did not work this time. 😦
I heard the cake was “SMASHED” really well!!! Success I would say and happy me!!! Happy Birthday to you Landon that is a miracle boy and is around us to fill our lives with smiles, giggles and wiggles!!! So happy to be part of your first celebration! Thanks so much!
I was asked to bake cake pops for this sweet and cute little girl that does not have a favorite color but instead loves all of them. So I couldn’t help myself but to get her some of the rainbow colors and make cake pops to share with her friends at school! The colors are so kids friendly and I fell in love with the combination of them. I am hoping that treat colors everybody’s day in a very good way!!! Have a beautiful colorful day!!
I had the pleasure to bake this ladybug garden cake for a very special little one. I made sure to make a special and unique cake the way she asked me. I love to have the opportunity to make the cake the way the little ones want and this is why I love to talk to them and get all the details before I start. She was lucky enough to have her party at the San Diego Botanical Gardens in Encinitas! I was very excited to have my cake at the gardens since I love it there so much and I am a member for years now! The birthday girl saw the cake and told me “It is everything I asked for. It looks magnificent!” How about that for making my day brighter and shinier?
The cake and cupcakes at the venue. I did not have a close up picture for the cupcakes, but I think you can get an idea that every kid got a ladybug on a cupcake flower. There were two dozens of them!
The happy ladybugs are all lined up waiting for the time to get to the gardens! Who wouldn’t anyway!
I was inspired to make this cake after I watched Joshua John Russell teaching a modern buttercream class on Craftsy. He showed how to make a bow and I took the opportunity to incorporate it in this cake. It is amazing how much you can learn online but I still love to take classes in person. The red roses are sugar flowers made especially for a 81 year old woman that got this cake as a gift. This was a chocolate cake for 40 people, with fresh raspberry jam and chocolate ganache. Black and red are her favorite colors. Very chic!!!
These were 50 chocolate cake pops made for a baby shower inspired by Neverland. Pastel green was the pallet for the bow and color for the cake pops. Can’t wait to see how it looked on the decorated rings at the party. These were party favors for the guests. I hope they liked and enjoyed their treat!
Love is always in the air! This cake is a sweet creation made for a couple that heard that they are going to have their first baby and asked me to make a small cake to celebrate a new life.
I was inspired by the impressionist painter Georges Seurat. I have to say that my daughter’s art teacher is giving me lots of ideas to use with my sugar art. The technique is called pointillism. Thanks Mrs. Susan for the opportunity to let me stay during the class and learn all the fun and different techniques that you are sharing from your vast experience and wisdom and giving us an incredible opportunity to bring “heart” to our worlds!!!
Baby shower cake for Baby Mila. Mom liked bright colors and it was very specific with the design for the cake and cupcakes. The baby shoes were made of sugar for a keepsake. At first they thought they were fake! I am glad I told them they could eat them too. The flower cake pops were in a flower pot at the guest tables. The cupcakes were the party favor. I packaged 60 of them on a plastic cup and then on a bag with a pink satin bowls. Yeah, I put my hubby to work too that day!!! The mom to be saw it on a website and wanted to have the same exactly party favor for her baby girl shower and her guests to enjoy after. I don’t have a picture of the finished product, sorry! She was very pleased when everything came together. Her sisters-in-laws did a fabulous job decorating the place, matching everything and creating a unforgettable baby shower for her. It was a party for 60 people but the whole first tier was saved for another special day, plus they had lots of left over cake too!!! Who doesn’t like left over cake for later? The shower was on the hottest day of the season, it was around 100 degrees that day!!!
